Jessica McPhee-Hayes, CSoc BA 2008, MAT 2010

Now a teacher at Stewart Middle School in Tacoma, Jess  has this to say about the inclusive education model that characterizes her school: “I love that you can walk into my classroom and you can’t tell who was a “special ed kid” and who was a “highly capable student” because they’re all learning at a high level; they’re all capable of learning, capable of thinking, and they’re all capable of improving. I am astounded by the students who were in special ed last year. They hang with everybody else and they do amazing things and they are just tremendous people.”
